Igniting Opportunity: The importance of opening your vantage point

The real opportunity at the start of a new year isn’t speed - it’s perspective, focus, and intention.
I was called an Ignitor and I liked it.
It’s a new year, a new moment to set the tone for what the next moments and movements will be for you and for your business.

The start of a new year brings more than resolutions - it offers a chance to redefine how we see opportunity. This year, the opportunity isn’t just to move forward - it’s to move forward with intention.
The real opportunity lies in expanding possibility- identifying barriers, reframing challenges, and defining actionable steps that align with what truly matters to both the consumer and the business. This isn’t about guessing; it’s about knowing. And knowing requires a deliberate shift toward listening, analyzing, and acting.
With that, I wanted to share some thoughts to help set the tone and breathe energy into the challenges that may be ahead of you right now. A few soundbites to carry with you as you navigate the days, months, and year ahead.
Thoughts to ignite growth
Listen. To what’s happening around you, with your consumer or your potential consumer, their perspective. Not what you think their perspective is, but truly know it. This helps draw conclusions and identify barriers you can shift.
Expand possibility. Know what your barriers or triggers to growth are and actively pick one to focus on.
Define opportunity. Reflect on that area, bringing ideas and conclusions to the conversation to spur energy around the possibilities.
Home in. Focus on what’s essential and what really matters as a next step. Most importantly, know what matters to your consumer and your business, then define active steps to drive that forward.
Execute. Remember, if you’re not out there, you don’t exist - so do something. Take action, monitor, and evolve as needed to optimize and accelerate. But don’t guess. Know.
Check in, Monitor, and Optimize. Knowing what to do and then doing it are the first steps, but continuous monitoring to understand what’s worked and what hasn’t is essential to enable continuous optimization. This is what drives momentum.

Begin by opening your vantage point: Are you truly listening to consumers, or working from assumptions? Identify one barrier or trigger to prioritize, then define measurable steps to address it. Commit to monitoring and optimizing continuously - because growth isn’t static, and neither should your thinking be.
